At the point where the foundation of the first bridge in Canal Istanbul will project to be laid, the latest construction was displayed from the air. "We are laying the foundation of the first bridge of Canal Istanbul on June 26" announced Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu in Kocaeli.

The construction proceeds at the point where the foundation of the first bridge of Canal Istanbul will be laid.

The construction of works was displayed from the air before the opening ceremony of the canal. The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu provided erudition about Canal Istanbul at the tunnel opening ceremony on the Gebze-Darıca metro line in Kocaeli. “The main span of the bridge, which is 440 meters long, will be 860 meters in length with the 210 meters long side spans on the right and left, while the total length of the bridge will reach 1,618 meters with the approach viaducts. The bridge will serve the traffic as 2x4 lanes. The platform width of the bridge will be 46 meters.” said Karaismailoğlu in a statement.

The minister stated that those who oppose this project also opposed other projects before. “People who oppose Canal Istanbul today did not want Marmaray or the Eurasia tunnel in the past. The same people opposed the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge. No matter what anyone says, we are working to make our country a leader with the strength we get from you, and we continue to make exemplary projects.” said Karaismaioğlu, in Kocaeli.
